Letters:

Chief Serpas

Chief Halford

As our police officers work harder than ever before to enhance the safety of our families, neighbors and guests, they nevertheless report for duty each day knowing that today's shift could be their last...that the profession they have chosen could result in their dying in service to others.

Members of The Hundred Club of Nashville deeply understand the tremendous heartache and loss to family members of an officer who makes the ultimate sacrifice, not to mention the grief felt by the city as a whole. A quarter century ago, the late Bill Trickett decided that there should be an organization to help ease the burden on the spouses and children of police officers and firefighters killed in the line of duty by paying off the deceased's outstanding debt. Thanks to Mr. Trickett's untiring efforts, The Hundred Club was formed. It now has members throughout the Nashville area.

In my view, The Hundred Club is one of our city's most worthwhile organizations. It has solid leadership, and it is a sound steward of the monies in which it is entrusted. Thank you for your interest in The Hundred Club of Nashville. If you are not a member, I sincerely hope that you will consider becoming one today.
